    Wheels size? Budget?

I got over 11K miles on my last set of drag radials - and they even cornered very, very well. They would be my first suggestion by far.....next, hard to say due to the different compounds for street tires. If grip off the line is the main concern, a soft compound and the widest tiree possible would be my suggestion.

    Nitto, BFG, Kumho.
Those are my top 3 favs.
With the nittos, you need to wear them off a little bit but then they are really nice.
ATM im running kumhos on the rear and nexon the front, its a good setup for street/drag/autoX

I've had good luck with my good year GS-D3's. Great in the rain and everything. The rears are getting to the wear bars and loosing some traction now, but that is expected with low tread street tires. Fronts are almost like new yet. If you only worried about hooking though just bite it and run DR's.

+2 for the Goodyear GS D3. I wore out all 4 of my GS D3s after 26,000 and put on some of the new Goodyear all season F1 UHP, but the GS D3s were better on the launch. I bought the all seasons because of the higher tread wear rating, thinking I can get 30-35k out of them, but either I need to learn how to launch with the new tires better or my next set will be again the GS D3s. I could get 1.99 60 ft times with the GS D3s, my best so far is a 2.13 with the new ones.

I like my Kumho Ecstas...420 Treadwear (i've had them for 8 months [5k miles] and I don't even notice any wear) and have medium to excellent traction....I can break them loose from a dig, but they grip the road when I whip it around corners.
