Offset is what really plays into this. I have seen as big of 20s on these car but that is fairly uncommon. This chart may help.

WIDTH ..... OFFSET ......... WIDTH OF TIRE

    Front and Rear

    7.0" ..... +35 to +40 mm .... 215, 225, 235
    7.5" ..... +35 to +45 mm .... 215, 225, 235
    8.0" ..... +38 to +55 mm .... 225, 235, 245
    8.5" ..... +38 to +45 mm .... 235, 245, 255
    9.0" ..... +38 to +56 mm .... 255, 265, 275
    9.5" ..... +38 to +56 mm .... 255, 265, 275, 285
    10.0" ... +38 to +48 mm .... 265, 275, 285

    REAR Only

    10.0" ... +38 to +54 mm .... 275, 285, 295
    10.5" ... +38 to +50 mm .... 285, 295, 305, 315
    11.0" ... +45 to +56 mm .... 305, 315, 335

Stick with 17s imo. I like 17x9 up front and 17x11 out back.

I agree, i have 17" on one camaro and 18" on the other. 18" is the largest diameter I would go.

i want to have a lip on rims but tire shop said with offset on trans ams u cant really get a lip without altering ur car...how can i get a decent lip with stock ws6 set up...i think its stock all the shocks are red and match the frame ties...looks newer though so not sure...has a really light aluminium drive shaft...so could be factory setup but not sure

I have a 2 inch lip in the front and a 3 inch lip rear on my car. I made no modifications to get them to fit. It is all about the offset. Most of the high end wheels come with a decent sized lip. If you are going for a budget wheel you can always buy a vette wheel from OEWheels. They have a lip on them. TTII and TTMs are both options as well.

Mine have a lip too, mine are what are considered deep dish in the rear. I didn't have to alter the car at all.

There are far more variety and cheaper tires that fir 17in rims. Tires or 18's limit you considerably.

Upload the pictures to photobucket and then copy the image tag from it on photobucket and paste it here.
