Best Drag Radials?
Have two wheels(Stock Speedline 17's) that want to put Drag Radials on like Nitto 555r or etc.
What are best and what size to use?
Was thinking about going with standard 275/40-17
but what else can i use?

M/T drag radials
My $0.02 worth is that the M/T drag radials are the best for the strip. I ran them several times last year and was very impressed. With Goodyear GSD3 tires, I had to launch at idle. With good track conditions and spinning them a few times, just to knock the stones off the M/T drag radials, I was launching at 3,000 - 3,200 rpm with no spinning. I was afraid of blowing the stock 10-bolt so I did no dare go to 3,500 rpm's. I even use them when I drive SCCA autocross events. Probably not the best for autocross, but the stick way better than the GSD3's. Good luck and let us know what you get and how you like them.

I ran 2 pair of nitto dr's and 1 pair of bfg comp ta's all 275/40/17 just in this past season.the nitto had far more tread life than the bfg's.time wise they were about the same.and they were quiet on the street.i don't know about any other. toyo makes a drag tire that looks pretty mean. it's a 888dr

He'd have to be talking about ET Street DRAG RADIALS, since MT doesn't make 18" ET Drags or ET Streets.
I've ran 4 different sets of Mickey Thompson (ET Street) Drag Radials and never noticed any bouncy feeling? (One set of 275/40/17's and 3 different pairs of 275/50/15's - one pair on 15x10's, two pair on 15x8's)
Now a bias ply ET Street is a whole different animal....
To the original poster, like said above...
MT ET Street Drag Radials for best hook, Nitto's for longest life and "ok" hook.2002 Silverado Z71 ECSB HPTuners tuned by yours truly

With my MT ET Streets.. I didnt even like going over 80-90 because of the "wishy-washy, swaying" feeling the ass end had. When I raced a 96 cobra.. He obvioulsy saw my ass end at a high speed and when we were bullshitting he said my ass end looked like it was swaying 3 inch's back and forth. He had MT ET drags and skinneys up front.

I hated it enough that I'll never go back to a bias ply ever again. Radials only for this old guy.
You should feel it at 130+ if you think 80-90 is bad, lol. My old sled was at 107mph or so in the eighth mile and from there til the traps was "fun"....

But you can't beat that "wrinkle wall" thing on the starting line...lol.

I run a set of Nitto 555DR, and I'll never buy them again. I pulled a better 60ft time with some regular street tires than these Nitto's. They feel sticky but should've went with the Mickey Thompsons.

I will never DD MT ET Streets again. I didnt like how unstable they were at higher speeds. I think I will just try a weaker drag radial this year, like the nitto.
