Anyone painted the OEM 5 spoke wheels?

Hi guys. I was looking at options for black rims for my TA. I'm not sure if I can afford new wheels plus I just got new 16" tires. Has anyone painted their OEM 5 spoke wheels? If you have please post pics, how and what product you used.

I was looking in painting mine black or black chrome. I want something that will last. i was looking at black paint kit for wheels from duplicolor but not so sure about trying it. Thanks.

on factory wheels, cant beat the chrome.....any kind of paint on them would be not cool lol...i have however seens some anodized speedlines that looked kickass..

I haven't tried it yet, but i met a guy who had used a paint remover to take off the scratched, pitted clear coat on the factory rims, and they shined like new. It's on my list to do now, and may be an option for you?

the chrome on the wheels is perfect I will like some black rims. I'm just looking for more info before even attempting to do it.

i don't know if you can successfully "paint" over chrome..? i'm assuming yours are chrome? you'd probably should have them professionally refinished if that's the case.. that said, i'm definitely a fan of black wheels, i went w/ a matte black finish - i love it.

yes they are chrome. Are yours 5 spokes painted black?

yes, mine are painted black - but they are not the TA wheels. i bought some vette wheels (5 spoke), and they also painted them a matte black for me (they warranty the finish for 2yr) - i'm very pleased w/ the matte look...

When I bought my WS6, the speedlines on there were painted black. It was done professionally I could tell and looked like something from the factory. I sold them and bought polished because black rims weren't really my thing.

I was under the impression powedercoating was the only way to get a lasting job. But they want damn near the price of a replica rim to do it

. I also would like black (CETA) rims.

Have painted quite a few sets of rims just have to make sure the surface is prepped correctly and paint it in twopac do not use spray paks as it won't last
