i did that as well. 315/35-17 nitto DRs. they fit just fine. tread width did not surpass the rim at all. nittos are narrow in tread.

Nitto suggests that tire should be mounted on a 10.5-12" wheel.

Nitto also says their tire size widths are exactly the same as BFG GY and others which is BS.

I have tried 275's 285's and currently run 295's on 9.5 wheels all around. It looks great and handles even better. It does not rub and the fenders are not rolled. The car is lowered 1.5" so the ride is rough. 315's will work BUT, you should run the 10.5" rim and check for fender rub.

How do they ride? are they comparable to a Falken? I have Falken FK452s and they are really good also. I don't care for the lip on the 275/40/17s though. Got em mounted on a 11" rim in the back.

The 275/35/18's were "Kumho" the 295/30/18 are "Pirelli". They were not a problem mounting. Both give a much harder ride than the stock 255/55/16. The pirelli give the best handling. I go with the type I can get for cheapest (since they get burned off pretty quickly). I look on Ebay for someone who bought too big for they're ride and get next to new tires for cheap. I have not rolled the fender lip but use an adjustable panhard bar to keep the back centered with no rubbing.
