    335/30/18 wide tires

So i got new rims and its about time for new tires for the rears. Its got 315/30/18 Mickey Thompsons on it and they rubbed a little, but i got it to work out. Got to pick up an adjustable panhard bar, but wanted to see what people thought of running 335s out back. I know I'd probably have to run a spacer and definitely roll the lip, but i think it would be something not too many people run on.

I know lots are gonna say widest is 315 but i wanted to see what people thought. Not sure on the backspacing on my wheels now but i'm running 18x11.5" rims. Also to my surprise the 335s i've found seem to be a little cheaper than 315s.
    What do you guys think?

The only ppl Ive seen running 335s have minitubs. I don't think BFH and rolling the fenders will be enough for 335s, but maybe someone else will chime in.

I may just go with 315s but 335s are crossing my mind. Just don't wanna go out and spend money on tires and be stuck with em.

I have never seen it but I have heard of 335's on f-bodies, I have seen 315's on all 4 corners.
Don't roll it grind it, save that paint from cracking.
You tried launching on those tires yet?

Yup, hooked pretty good. With a gforce meter got 5.06 0-60 but not too sure how accurate it is. It definitely had a little more in it too. Also found my camera so will have pics up tomorrow.

I spent a lot of time investigating ways to put a 325-345 on my Z a couple years ago, all I found were minitub kits. If you get it to work that would be awesome, let us know

Still might try it because of the offset on my wheels. Its not a very large offset so the tires do come out more. I think its possible but its gonna come real close on both ends.
On one hand i could go 335 Nittos which would not be as wide as an ordinary 335 tire, or i could go with 335 BFG KDWs which i really want.

Or i could just go with some 315s, found Pirellis for 450 shipped

I'm confused on what to do next

I dunno, think that depends on the tire... I'm running 315/35/17 Sumitomo's and my rear doesn't mind. I have yet to get traction though as those tires don't grip for shit.

Well, if i still had my auburn carrier it would really hate me. Those clutches wouldn't last like a torsen would. Plus i got MTs and they grip!

    Not too sure

Think what i'm gonna do is get the 335/30/18 BFG KDW2s and hold on to em while i rock the 10 spokes for another month or two. Once i get the adjustable panhard bar and LCAs i'll throw em on and figure out if i need to run spacers and if i do, get new studs. Lip is getting rolled (or ground down) either way.

Will have to measure my backspacing and offset later in the week just to be sure but i think this is what i'm gonna do.

yea thats about all you can do, unless you have a real good rim shop by you that can take all the measurement and get the info of your rims and tell you forsure if it will work or not

and not one of those ricer or *****/***** shops either

Not for these wheels, they're going where i got em
Horsepower Sales of Pompano Beach. Great shop. Its where i got my Fast 90 and the wheels. Just hoping they will fit without spacers, really don't feel like pulling the axles to put in new studs.

Think i'm gonna need a PM, don't know what *****/***** means

i used to run 315's all the time...had to bang the inner and roll the outer fenders to keep the rubbing down.

however ive switched to a 275/40 and im much happier with how they perform. they actually hook better than the wider tires...and they are a harder compound (380 vs 160) both sumitomos...

in any case thats just my $0.02

I know i can run 315s, but 335s are gonna cost just a hair more and i can get BFG KDWs for 305 a piece shipped. Not many other tires i can get that cheap. Only other things i can find cheap enough are DRs and i would love that, but for 550 and up for a pair of tires i wanna get my moneys worth out of em. Need something that'll last.
