315/35-17 Sumitomo HTRZ, I have these rims on my Black ZR1's and i cant really tell you if there perform well yet for another couple of days but driving it for a couple of times not hard they gripped really well. Ive heard they are a bit smaller in actual width then other 315 tires, ill let you know in a couple of days.

So, if you can get them from this website for $174 per tire, that is a huge savings.

I got REALLY loose into 4th gear on those piles of shit. Worthless tire. Sorry.
    The Nitto DR's I run grab 1st.
    Tried BFG KDW's as well....got a bit loose into 3rd, held 4th.
Tried Continental's also....not quite as bad as the Sumihomo's though.

All tires were 315's except the Continental's (which were 275's)...which grabbed better than the 315 Sumihomo's.

    315s? I didn't know tom sold em that cheap...315/40/17s?

i was just pointing out how overpriced that site was i guess, but if tom has them that cheap i might look at using those for my next street tire.

They should be 315/35-17. With the added width over a 275, on size down on the profile makes them the same height.

I have had lots of success with BFGs in the past, but they not longer make a street tire that is 315/35R17.

I honestly dont like the Sumi's. A few buddies have them and cant wait to get new tires. They grip like shit IMO. I really like my Nitto's for the price compared performance. Never had any problems in rain either. Just dont drive like an idiot

The Sumi's I have to put it kindly suck donkey dick. Even before I installed my heads and cam they sucked. Im getting the Nitto's on mine once I get the 12 bolt installed.

I have the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 315's on the rear (275 on front) and I love them. I've had the car on the road course and they are great, but I've never taken it to the strip. Great in the rain too. But as you said, they aren't cheap.

I have the sumi's on now, they do grip alot better then what i had before but then again what i had before were my stock 16x8.5 rims. If im driving in 1st gear and decide to floor it, it will start chirping the tires but not the excessive wheel spin i would get with my kuhmo ecsta's on my stock rims. Once im done with these tires i will go with a better tire but for now there fine for me, well till i get my 4.10's on lol.

I know, I was worried about that too until I read more reviews.

I think I will go with the Nitto 555s and try them out. I have Falken FK452's now but, they don't make a 315 either.
Nitto NT555 are really bad in the rain. I made a turn real slowly and wound up fishtailing really bad 2x. Never again!!!

Were they the 555 or the 555R? I think the R's are better in the rain.
