offset is the measurement of the distance the hub of the rim is from the actual centerpoint of a rim as viewed from above, like this ] l [ . A rim like this has zero offset. Positive or negative offset moves the hub further from or closer to the vehicle, and is measured from the centerpoint to the hub. I know this sounds confusing without pictures and with pathetic attempts to describe my point with text, but do you get the basic idea?

ok, let's try it this way. offset is the measurement from where the wheel bolts to the axle to the inner rim lip. also refered to as backspacing.

a wheel with a +35mm offset means that from the middle point of the wheel, it is 35mm further inward. positive moves the wheel inward, negative moves the wheel outward.

    example:

an 8" wide wheel's center point is 4", or 0mm offset. from there, it is +35mm offset from that point.

25.4mm = 1". so, backspacing is 5.37" on the same 8" wide wheel.

sorry for being confusing, it sounded good in my head! anyway, http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/...jsp?techid=101 should give you an idea what we're talking about, if you still don't understand.

I know what you mean, what's up with that shit? I don't want to come across as racist either, but there are certain things they do which are just "different". Like what is up when it's a nice day outside, and you see everyone wearing light clothing and tshirts, no jackets, etc.. but you come across the rap wanabe guy wearing a fucking parka? I have seen this so many times.. it's just too common to write off as coincidence. Is it cool to wear a parka in the spring, or is there something about the bio chemistry of their bodies I am missing? Is this somehow related to the 20" or higher rim syndrome?

    20 inchers

The car is dropped now and I have less than a PINKY in all four corners that I can squeeze in, im running 275 all the way around, but im going to trade my rims in for some smaller ones, just because of performance. The ride is GREAT I don't know why people say it gets worse. Maybe it's my shocks? It rides better than my girls v6 camaro with regular shocks and my 16 inch stockers with brand new tires.

    Performance > 20 inch rims

Eddielb, very nice car. But in my personal opinion, the rear wheels look a little too big for my taste. I would not have gone more than 18 because I think at this point I think the wheels start monopolize the appearance.

Dude you're 36 years old, and you are so excited about the big ghetto wheel? I don't get it. You should just buy a bulldozer!

No but seriously, I'd like to probe your thinking. What is it about a huge wheel like this that you think looks good on your car? Because I think it ruins the vehicle. You think it makes it better. Explain please?
