    18's need to be lowered?

Not sure if this is the right place if not please move. I am looking at purchasing some 18 inch rims for my TA and i had a question about ride stance/height. Will i have the 4 x 4 look with 18's or will i still look alright or will i have to lower the car?

If you have pics please post

    Thanks guys

Lower it first, then get the 18" wheels.

The gap between the tire and fender is going to look worse with the shorter sidewall tires.

it'll look the same if the 18" tire is the same overall diameter. tire size equivalents

Carefully choose your 18" tires. Often, people don't look carefully enough at diameter. You don't want a larger diameter tire in the front than the rear.

    I'll respectfully have to disagree!
IMO, the shorter tire sidewalls on a 18"wheel/tire package (stock height) is going to make the tire to fender gap appear larger, even though the gap might be the same. So if you think your car looks like it needs to be lowered now wait till after you put the 18s on it.

appearing versus actual is different. actual physical difference is nil, or .1" radius taller.

17" front 18" rear. looks the same to me with both having the same overall tire diameter.

really depends on the offset of the wheel.
