What do you think about Bra's

Hey everybody, today i saw a 96 TA with full exhaust, sounded nice, and when passed him up i saw a big ugly leather cover up on his front, i gave him a sadd look as i was about to give him a thumbs up, but that all ended. BtW he had Honeycomb lights too. IMO i wont ever consider putting a bra on my TA why? because IMO these cars have balls not funn baggs. what do you guys think?

I use one for road racing to keep the 'marbles' off of the nose.

To me, a car bra is a necessity if you are looking at your car as a long term deal. I hate putting the thing on and I hate making sure the car is clean a free of any foreign substances that would scratch the paint, but it is a necessary evil if you want to keep your paint in tip top shape.

They are definitely a pain in the arse but cheap protection considering the cost of a quality paint job these days. It takes a hard core commitment to put up with the hassle of putting it on and taking it off. Just my opinion.

Bras always look better when they are off....

But I would like one for my car to keep all the stupid road dings off of it.

They serve a reason if you take care of it and the car. I bought the Colgan Bra from AfterThoughts. Very pleased with it. Great for using on trips, which is why I bought it, and for just riding around in town. I have seen first hand on my boys car a another type Bra that wasn't a tight fit and it wasn't cleaned regulary and it scratched deep into his black paint. My Hawk is a D/D so it was kept on thru snow, rain. Some cars look good with them, some don't. A cheap non tight fitting bra that you don't clean and take care of can do more damage than protect. I have no chips, scratches, or bugs on the front of my paint. My other 02 silver transam was a D/D that had the chips from no Bra. I'll keep the Bra on for my use.

I have a nice GM brand bra designed specifically for the Camaro but I would only use it for highway driving. Leaving a bra on your car will eventually damage your paint and noticeably fade the color on lighter cars.

I personally think that bras make our cars hideous and, in general, are outdated. However, I think the bra in this pic looks pretty good!

Has anyone tried the clear-type bras? To give a better idea, it's basically a window tint for the paint that's clear & supposedly invisible, all the while protecting the paint. Do you guys know what I'm talking about, and have you tried it?

^its a covering made by Mylar.

i see it on alot of new vehicles. looks good, but would prolly be tacky on our cars.

the mylar isnt noticeable from a distance, but close, you see all the edges, and with any vinyl it fades over time.
