What color should I paint my block?

I have a new 408 long block with a FAST intake. What color would look cool in a gray Z28? Im thinking Chevy Orange block with the valve covers and brackets painted black. Is this too old school? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i always like old school. i think it'll look good

if you go old school you must carry the whole theme through. otherwise a nice subtle black will look good

nah black is too boring, i'd say the orange or that light blue color they used to paint gto blocks.. i guess most classics where that color

i painted mine silver. that way, people will think it's just a 346 ls1 motor.
