sebring silver- Y2K SS CAMARO
What color did you paint your motor?
Im curious to see if anyone stepped out of the normal black and silver and went with something a little more original.
i personally sanded down then entire block till it was smooth and went with a burnt copper metallic on the block and oil pan and valve covers since the heads polised out nice. ive also taken the valley cover and timing cover and sanded them down with 320 grit sand paper and went to town with them on the buffing wheel making them look just like billet which compliments the color really well.
ill post pics when i get to the house tonight since there on my computer there
but what colors and extra elbow grease did you put into your engine while it was out just to make it that much better looking???2000 ss camaro, forged lq9 370 short block, stage 3 PRC 243 heads, fast 102 w, big mouth throttle body, MS3 cam, 1.7 roller rockers, stage 3 t-56, monster stage 3, pro 5.0, 4.10's with moser axles, bmr tq arm, lca's, phb. SOLD (thankfully)!!!
New project: 1968 step-side, partial restore, ls/th400 swap. hopefully boosted pics and more info to come!!!
Having a small cam is like having a small dick, everytime you go to use it you wish it was bigger

If it's aluminum, I leave it aluminum simply because I like the look and I also don't want to inhibit the aluminum's ability to disipate heat.
On my 6.0 LQ cast iron block however I painted it the factory orange since that was the color it is supposed to be for the car I installed the engine in I left all the aluminum as is however.

Heat resistant red metalic, with a heat resistant anodizing red clear over that.
Gives it a candied look.
I've done others in solids, blue (70's GM engine blue) red, black, gold, orange, casting gray (clean cast iron look) and I am currently working on a metalic blue one on the side.
