Wish I would have known it was going to be such a pain in the ass I would have found a smashed LS1 car and done an LS1 conversion instead of an LT1.. but oh well.. live and learn...

the loovers got go first, shave the handles, locks, and emblems. get 20in black wheels with a 4 in chrome lip and drop the car nicely. upgrade the lights with blue xenons in front and smoked tails. respray the car black over and over again then hit it with a gloss till its beautiful. as for the interior it should be black leather with a red trim. and a built
ls1 under the hood running headers and true duals.

ls1ya sounds like a guy on TGO'S car i would not want to shave the locks/handles yh it looks clean but i dont want to deal with all those popers and that bs . i think 20 are too big ( btw this car will see the track) i dont like the black wheels with a crome lip mabe all black. not too big of a fan of the big lips the lights up front are HID's 4300k in the high and lows with hella euro style housings the fogs are h3 blubs .....
i dont like crome/billet too much on my car. on other it looks good but not my taste

i dont feel like messin with bondo to replace the hole that the embulms would creat

    1) Trash the louvers - now
    2) Remove side moulding with a heat gun/blow dryer
    3) Remove all gold decals
    4) Take the car to a good detailer who knows how to do paint correction and have them buff all swirls/imperfections/scratches/oxidation from everything but the hood. This will make your paint look almost new/revived and it will match the hood much better.
    5) Buy 4 TTM or TT2 american racing wheels in 17x9 front and 17x10.5 rear with Nitto tires.
    6) Take off blackouts on tail lights.
    7) Buy lotion-every time you look at the car you will need it.

I just sold my showroom condition low mile (27,500) 87 Iroc...

For just a few bucks more, I got this to take it's place and couldn't be happier.

I hated feeling guilty every time I drove the Iroc and put more miles on it. It was 100% original when I got it so I was afraid to mod it. I got tired of having it just sit in my garage so I sold it...

For your Iroc I agree that the louvers should come off. I'd say try to make it back to 100% original as you can...

I had a 87 IROC exact to the one you had. Mine wasnt in showroom condition but it was damn close. I replaced just about everything on the car then had it painted.Came out really nice. Mine only had 187,000 miles. LOL

Nice list of mods. I was referring mostly to the external appearance like some Iroc rims...

This was my first car I absolutely loved it and knew it inside and out.
For one thing the clear front turn signals look like shit. IT's a completely black and gold car. Nothing clear, chrome, or white to match it. The orange colored side markers actually add to the black. Yea if you put LEDs behind them they might look good at night but if you were going to replace these you should have at least got the smoked clears not plain clear...

Louvers.. haha like everyone else .. get them off ASAP... although they do help keep alot of heat out of the back.. They kill the shocks on the back deck lide holding all of that weight up.. and whoevers had one of these knows the shocks suck already!!

New side stickers will do wonders for this ride...

If you want to change appearances.. Get a raised wing .. 91-92 Z28 version and the hood that was changed for those years too ..also the side trim and rear lips as well.. The front tip is slightly pointier and has details that match the sides style .. pictured below..

Get rid of those rims.. The IROC rims look good on them if you get them cleaned and polished...like someone else said get the replicas in a bigger size and they'd be even better.. Chrome on this would not really fly unless you went ahead and switched it over to black with silver lettering and decals.. IF you have a black interior thatd be an easy switch

For a little different and in my opinion better version .. Step up to the 88-90 Version of these rims As pictured below they double the lines on the star

Oh and I think your lost... you need to go here
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/ haha jk man but it's more about your car than this forum

I'd get the TTII's, they look awesome and would really make your car stand out.

But you need to ditch the louvers. Those were hot back in the 80s, but they are too "gino" on an Iroc if you know what I mean.

I love 3rd gens, and I would not get rid of your car either.

Well, you're only 20 so you missed the whole 80s things. I'm almost twice your age and I used to drive a 3rd gen back then.
