I have a 99 Z and want a new hood, preferably forced air. Im thinkin the Ultra Z by slp but Iv'e also been lookin at a fiberglass SS hood. What do you guys think?

they both look nice. I love the SS, but the ultra Z looks sweet on Ls1 models. Check out 99huggers car he has one(looks sexy as hell).

Go Ultra Z. Bad Ass And Very Distinct. Actually Functions Too, B/c The Opening Is Right In Front Of Your Air Inlet. I Cut Mine Wide Open. Really Helped At 100mph+,,,uh, At The Race Track...

yea, im pretty set on it but i heard that it only works with your stock air box. I wanted to get the slp cold air induction but that takes air from below the car, which would make my ultra z hood not so functional

I dont know. You might be suprised. Actually, I had a SLP lid and the FRA, prior to installing the hood. I just added the hood and cut out the front pieces in the hood. Worked great. I cant say if it would have been more beneficial with, or , without the FRA and lid. Never tried it with just the hood. I tell ya this, you could sure hear the air(granted may have been turbulance from 2 totally different entry points)!

i have an ultra z hood and love it( the looks) but the quality /fitment sucks. btw y'all it really doesn't do much. just like the ss hood as far as flow. you will notice the difference as much as the difference between a fram filter and a K&N ..not much. if you want power save the $$$ for a cam/springs or headers but a cam would net you more

are there any hoods besides the standard ss and the Z?? I want a hood w/ forced air. oh, and what benefits does the ss hood have?
