Surface Rust guru
Okay, hoping there's a guru around here that understands rust better than I.
Have a 00 vette that I recently changed the clutch MC out for a tick unit. during the weekend I had the clutch pedal assembly sitting on the floor of the garage. Installed her all back together and after about a week of tuning the pedal, I got it down and decided to button her back up.
After pulling everything back out and crawling under the dash I see this.
I know it doesn't look horrible, but after 13 years I pulled it out of the car like this
Does anybody think this is something I should worry about? Would the likely cause be from letting it sit on garage floor for 2 days or could it be rusting in the cabin?

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't worry. You could always sand the brackets down with a wire brush and coat them with some rust-oleum.

if it was any other part I would. it took me two days to get that piece bolted back up as the new mc must be installed first before the assembly can be put in

Okay. Instead of pulling the pedal assembly, just get under there with a small can of POR-15 and a brush and spread a light coating.
