Dont be so hard on yourself. The upgraded dash looks pretty sweet. Remember the car is well over 10 years old. The vents are the least of your worries. I feel really lucky with my 98 TA. Most of my car is still in great condition. The vents, dash and door panels are pretty much mint. (knocking on wood now! )

please let me know what you think

I realize I need to get some new vents also. I'm getting there with giving this car back some TLC

I like your speed cluster very much. But as for your a/c knobs and door switches, is there any danger the paint will wear off after a period of time and use?

Funny thing is. I was so fixated on the dash that I didn't notice the vents till you said something. But if you do little steps it will get accomplished and look great in the process.

To be honest I did a clear coat on them, the other thing is if they wear off, I can always taken them off and spray them again, but with primer, spray paint, and clear coat. I do not think it will come off any time soon.

    LOL
I'm sure if I did not say anything about the vent someone would have, it was a lose lose kind of moment with it, I figure I just go ahead and point it out

What if you scuffed em a little with a green pad before painting?

I mean what are you trying to do with them? if you lay a good coat of primer, it helps the paint stick better, then the clear coat, just provides extra protection? you can sand them before painting, but the only thing really is if they are smooth like you want, just make sure they are wipe down and do not have any type of oil (cleaning stuff for car) on them and your good. the primer is a extra step in painting but it makes the paint set a lot better than with out em
