    So hood paint prep?

    Im POSSIBLY getting a new hood this week and looking at prep work to get the hood ready for paint. The hoods white and im curious as to what i need to do to get it all prepped up for painting it black?

    If it's in good shape just sand it down flat with 800 grit wet and the easiest way to do the underside is get a gray scuff pad wet with some comet scrubbing powder preps and degreases. Then just hose it all clean and get any dirt off. The paint shop will have to use the wax and grease remover b4 it goes into paint so no need for you to do it. The shop will either lay a coat of dk gray sealer over the white then shoot the black or some will just shoot the black over the white. I prefer sealing the white under a coat of primer sealer. Takes less coats of black to get the color match.
