screwed paint.. Ugh
Now when i bought my car we knew it had been repainted and it had some body issues(rocker panel, clear on front bumper) but i figured after a good buff and wax it would be fine. I did that and it looked 10 times better. But when i got back from Ocean City Maryland Cruise in I noticed PRIMER showing through... And it gets worse and worse, i havent even touched it with a buffer its like the paints blowing off.
now i have hundreds of little chips all over the god damn car too. Whoever owned the car before and whoever painted the car were dumbasses! I guess its time to sell my monte carlo project to save up to do paint.
Thats not dirt but little chips!!!!!!
Primer over spray? On my light!
Primer over spray? On my roof!
Both of my fenders are crushed at the bottom. Are they fixable?
This is why i need a new side skirt!
Someone can't paint worth Sh!t!
Got it for 6800 last month, Best looking out of the 4 or 5 LS1s i looked at and cheapest is too! I guess i will order a HOK paint book to see what i want to do with it. I also need to invest in a gun to practice with before i commit! All i know is i want to do it myself because i feel it will be a good skill too have.

Good prep work is the key if you're going to do it yourself. Plan on spending a fair amount of time sanding

dude that is seriously sad, go to whoever sold you that car and sue them. the paint doesn't just fall off, the car might have been painted over, a really bad paint job?

there's got to be a legal way to sue the paint shop or the seller. I'd talk to an attorney for a $50 or free consultation...

Looks like they just threw on a crap ass paint job just to get the car sold. Does it run stong? They might have done other crap too just to get it sold.

bad prep work and an even worse paint job, and with black paint, everything shows. i know, i have a black car...
some areas dont even look like the car has ever been waxed and that's why it appears there are the clearcoat issues...
no doubt you will get her fixed up right, but it sucks that its at your expense...

Thats a damn shame!! I would take the car and get it professionally painted. If you dont have a paint booth and experience its gonna look like shit again.

I used to paint, and that is not something I would put my name on. That is terrible. Looks like it wasn't even sanded before it was painted and now its starting to peel off.
The only way to fix it is remove all "new" paint and start over. The tough part is getting on the jambs and all the edges so the fresh paint will have something solid to grab hold of. . .
For a good professional job, its gonna set you back a few grand, EASY. There's a ton of labor in stripping the paint. Its messy and you'll get charged for it, dearly. While you're at it, you may as well spend a few extra bucks and do a one off custom paint job. I'd almost sell the car and start over. Let someone else have that headache. . . If the job isn't done 1001% perfect, you're gonna be in the same boat you are now, a few years down the road.
Hate it for ya bro.

I have seen some fked up paint on old cars and after they were repainted it not only looked awsome but it lasted many years. Just find a place that will let you look at their work and ull be aight. It took me a month to find the right place when I got my IROC done but it was worth the wait. There are alot of half assers out there that call themselves painters.

I didn't mean to come off as a prick, if it sounded that way. Your car is fixable dude. Its just gonna cost a pretty penny to do it correctly. Several thousand. You could almost replace it. . . If its worth it to you, rock on! Like I said, you may as well spend a few extra bucks and go one off custom!

my one buddy from the monte carlo community who is a painter told me to get all the plastic panels soda blasted. And just get a different hood which i planed on anyways. He offered to help me out with it if i needed it.
Im thinking Dark Grey color maybe charcoal metallic or something. With a black top and mirrors, ceta rear bumper mod too.
