I've seen it done before but your best bet is a pro- it's very easy to tear up the defrost strips on the back window.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I agree. Leave it to a professional. It'll be alot cheaper in the end.

not that expensive to have someone else do it, maybe someone will chime in on doing it yourself though

Everything I've seen says use ammonia and cover it in plastic- 409 is some strong stuff so it should do the trick. I have to get mine done. Idiot who had it before the guy that I bought it from had tinted the windows himself and they look like crap. Really messed up the factory tint so I have to have it all stripped off and re-done.

As said above will work or get a black trash bag and put it on the outside of your car. Make sure its a really sunny day. Wait 30 minutes and peel off. Use a razor blade with soapy water to remove glue. If your tints on the back window do the same thing but be very careful with the blade. If you have a light pad of some sort u maybe able to use that.

The best and safest way is to use a steamer.
It should come off with little glue residue.
A friend of mine is a pro tint installer and I've seen him do this a few times.
It works like a charm...

I agree. The tint itself just peels right off. I used a Shark portable steam cleaner to get the glue off. Real easy. DO NOT use a razor blade on the passenge windows. Scratched one of mine all to hell and had to replace the glass. As for the back, I had no problems with the rear defroster strips using the methods I described. I wouldn't pay someone else to do it.

did you use a dull blade with no water? If you use a sharp blade and water you shouldn't have issues with scratching. worked like a charm. Never thought about a steamer but next time ill use that.
