I'd get the retractable license plate holder...without a doubt! Only about $30 more than the one from afterthoughtsauto, and you can decide when and when not to have a plate

I have mine behind my billet grill that I got. My grill is screwed into my bumpa so I can add/remove the plate wheneva I want to. The grill holds it in place and keeps it from movin around. And if the cops give you shit you can always ziptie it. From far away lookin head on you can see it good, but up close you cant really tell its there. O yea I painted my grill black and my plates are white so it really sticks out especially at night cus of the reflection.

Save yourself the time and uglyness of the SLP plate holder and get the retractable plate holder. With the SLP plate holder you have to manually un-screw and screw the holder onto the car. Besides, it's fugly. The retractable can be painted the same color of the car and be hidden for a car show or for states that don't require it if you are passing through.

I have yet to get pulled over for my plate in the 2 years I've owned my bird. Though I think I'm going to do as my friend did to his Evo.

Anyone think that Stang's retractable plate setup work in between the bumper and the plate cover on a T/A?
