    painting rear end cover

    I want to paint my rear end cover,because I don't have the money to get a rear end cover as of now I'm thinking about painting it a platinum or metallic silver,the bolts & drain plug will be painted black,its just for a short time until I stack up the dough for a aftermarket rear end cover how many of you guys painted your rear end covers? Post some pics please

    I have painted them on a few of our vehicles -- generally semi-gloss black. Eastwood makes some nice restoration paints if you want to simulate a certain type of finish. Silver paint tends to look tacky imo, so anything but that will probably work.

    I wanted to use a silver because a lot of aftermarket rear end covers I've seen are silver,plus black probably wouldn't be too noticable,thanx for your input

    I wouldn't spend my time doing that. You can't see it anyway. Just save up for a TA girdle and when you change the cover put some new fluid in there. Just my .02.

    You do understand that the Differential cover can't be seen from behind the car right?

    Unless of course someone wants to lye down and look @ it..

    To each thier own, I'd go black tho..
