    BEFORE:

    AFTER:

Underhood mods include Afterthoughts FRC's, TS|S headplate and battery cover, secondary air delete, relocation of cruise control module, SLP lid, line lock, Kooks LT's, polished rocker covers, DEI sleeves on MSD wires, wire hide, and relocated ground wires. Can still see that ugly green battery though!

you can also polish your tb on the outside and the ac condensor along with the lines coming out of it. Really stands out when you open the hood at carshows.

Thank you. I have always used Simple Green, a soft brush and a sponge. With the engine cold, soak everything down with Simple Green and let it set for a bit. If it starts to dry in places, just keep re-wetting it and shoot the really gunked up areas a couple of times. After you hose it of you can go back over any trouble spots again. Don't forget the underside of your hood and in front of the radiator support.

I always used compressed air to blow out any accumulated water, towel dry everything I can reach, and then start the engine to let the heat finish the drying process. Just avoid spraying water directly at the coil packs and PCM, and try not to get too much around the base of the intake as there have been water related issues with the knock sensors from what I have read on here.

Tyler, here is a before/after of an LS1 i detailed for a customer. I used variations of degreasers, one is called cherry bomb from PRO, the other is called 'grime reaper' from Chemical Guys. It's important to aggitate with brushes, like a tooth brush around plastics and a hard wire brush on metal. I also washed/clay barred the fender wells and under the hood, polished the metal with mothers mag/aluminum then dressed the entire bay with CD2 to keep it shiney. When you wash it, be sure to cover the alternator and even the a/c with a plastic bag or aluminum foil.

You could hide the hood release cable too. I was able to plug off most of the holes in the wheel house as we have a black car. Not sure what to do with red. What holds your cruise cables under your cowl? Mine still hang out just a bit.

Theres a clip that holds them back thats bolted on to the intake manifold if that makes sence haha. I not sure what you mean about the hood release and the wheel house holes?? not to sound haha

The large red sheet metal tubs over top of each front tire can be referred to as "wheelehouses", a/k/a strut towers, inner fenders, etc... On top of the driver side one is your hood release cable -- that can also be hidden in a manner similar to the wire hide mod you did on the passenger side.

All the holes in your wheelhouses from the wiring harness clips and ground wires are what I plugged on our car. Take a close look at the pics I posted (should be at the top of this page, or the previous one) and you can see them.

Check my sig for a link to a few things we offer. I would do black underhood mirrors, our engine dress up kit, our headplate maybe an engine plaque too. You could paint your intake, lid and air deck gloss black to really make her shine
