    New Blue Z28

    *Updates w/ pics throughout thread!*

So I finally turned my boyfriend to the dark side and he picked up this 02 Z28 about a week ago. It's bone stock, but she finally got her first detail and photoshoot. Here it is:

He already ordered a set of dick harrell stripes for it and wants new wheels...
oh yah, and that ugly front license plate is now gone as well!
i'm just happy I have another camaro to play with!

Looks great. First thing I would do on that car is get some black projector headlights, they look so much better than the cloudy stock ones, especially with the Navy blue color

yah, he's kind of broke now, so I was going to polish up the stockers and see if I can make them look any better. They aren't as bad as mine were, so there's still hope!

He was thinking of painting the rear Berger panel in dark charcoal to match the stripe he ordered (charcoal rims coming eventually)... what do you guys think about that?

Well, I got bored yesterday and did the coolant bypass mod, fuel system cleaner, along with a much needed coolant flush (70k mile dexcool, yummy ). Also installed a 180* thermostat and ported throttle body I had lying around on it. Car seems to run a bit cleaner even if it's not really faster. Now I just need to talk the boy into buying my long tubes and true duals.

Now it just needs new spark plugs and an oil change and she'll be good as new!

Wow, must be nice to have a gf who will mod your car when she gets bored... Oh wait, thats my car, lucky me..lol... Anyway, Hi everyone.. I'm new here finally got my account activated so I can make posts now (stupid e-mail) As you can see I just got a blue Z, its really slow and it needs some help in the looks dept, but it is infinetly more fun than my last car so its all good.

Well, I decided to do some more work to the blue beastie after class today.

The engine bay is deliciously stock (well almost... i couldn't leave it alone entirely ) and rightfully filthy.

Here's a pic of the engine bay covered in dust and crap. yummy, no?

Well I washed the engine bay, went over all the plastic crap with armorall wipes, and sprayed the bay down with CD-2 engine detailer. (badass stuff BTW). Also tried to polish some of the AC stuff.. that'll take a few more hours. My attention span wouldn't allow me to finish that today. Then I painted the front composite brace piece semi gloss black, because that faded grey they come stock is just ugly.. Removed some of the stickers, etc and doesn't it look better?

The boy was also bitching about his cloudy headlights. (yah, we all have it, get over it.. ) so I took my handy dandy high speed drill and did what I could to fix that. What can I say, I love power tools...

Still cloudy, but not cracked and yellow. meh, it's the thought that counts right?

I did the interior the other day. It really needed some love. All the plastic was reallllly dry. Also removed my nice black floormats from my car and installed them in his car... since if I pull them out of my car and put them in his, i'm just that much faster, right? either way, I've always hated beige interior cars, but this is kinda growing on me. its not too vile, really...

aaaaaand here's a full pic of her current status. Needs lowering big time... and I have a cool repainted stock grille i'll be installing once I feel like taking the front bumper off... the stripes should also be here sometime soon, so that'll spice things up a bit!

oh that things EASY to take out. there are 2 nuts on each side and the 2 bolts on top. remove all that and pull the piece towards you and the back upward. the front bumper will flex a bit, but ive had that thing out like 20 times and it never hurts it. paint and reinstall! you can also do the headlight brackets and the bracket that piece bolts to while you have it all apart if you're feeling frisky
