My new blackouts came in today...

Just got em in today and they are the best quality I have seen. Found a guy who heat treats the lenses themselves. No film or covers to lose.

No that would be too much black! Keep the crome. I would mix it up and do red interior. Or red and black interior.

Hey how do they look at night?

Very sweet vette! I'd sell my mother for that car!! And you can have the wife too !

Thanks for the compliments Rob. I plan on the red inserts for the interior and the chrome inserts on the front and rear bumper.

At night they're stealthy but visible. I could probably get a nice pic.

The only way I would do black rims is if I could land a set of CCWs. I love the chrome offset too.

That's awesome man! What do you mean by heat treated? I might do something like that.

Its a heat process that bonds the material to the lens. Hes the only one that does it as far as I know. I dont have the details but I have his contact info if ya want it.

Ahh I was kinda wondering as well. I thought he just took a torch to the plastic and sorta "burnt it" black. I've done that by accident when bored to junk plastic lying around . As long as you keep the heat low, you can turn it black without melting it. But the downside is, it can come off. So I was kinda scratching my head as to how it was "heat treated". Stupid me .

looks good ive always liked the rear blackouts! The front blackouts (on cars without pop up lights) look nice but i hate the fact that it totally dims the headlights!

I like the blacked out look in the front too, but when I do it I'm going to throw in some extra bright bulbs to compensate for the the black lenses do. I'm going to black out every one of my lights on my Camaro too! I'll paint the car black too when I get more money

hhhmmmmmmmm I've thought about it but I think black is more my style. Plus I want to mix it up again and do a black and chrome theme. Its possible to leave it pewter, but I still want to repaint it to freshen it up.

I plan to paint my whole dash BLACK definitely so it always shines. I'm going to add some chrome interior peices too.(Chrome dash part around gauges, door handles, shift plate, shift knob and steering wheel)

I think I'm going go find a pair of LT1 Camaro tail lights and get those heat treated.
