    mirrors?

why do some Z's and SS' have black painted side view mirrors. My 99 Z has them, and they make me sick. Also, what kind of paint can I use to shoot the berger panel matte Black?

The 98 and 99 models had the black mirrors from the factory. In 2000 they started matching the mirrors to the rest of the paint.

Any flat black rattle can will do the job, just do it properly.

ok thanks, I didn't want to use dupli-color or something, then have it flake off in a month. I guess cuff up the silver with a brillo or something first?

+1. You should probably use a wax and grease remover first. If nothing else, at least wipe it down with some denatured alcohol or something similar. Then use a scotch pad, see example: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...ives/Hand-Pad/ or wet sand it with 400 grit paper until the surface is completely dull. Blow or wipe off the sanding residue, or use a tack cloth, then prime and paint using light even coats.

It should be inexpensive to get the mirrors painted from a body shop. As for the rear panel - as stated above, light sand with 400 grit, clean it well with a tack cloth, prime and paint.

My friend had his mirrors painted to match his car at a body shop for $60.

As for the rear tail light panel, it is an easy project to do yourself, if you don't mind taking the time to do it properly. I'm sure it wouldn't cost much to have a body shop paint it if you took it to them.
