luminescent spray painted heads and tails

i have a 99 camaro ss..its black on black and one of my friends just bought some luminescent paint and painted his lights with it..is it illegal to have the lights black although the light will still shine through when they are on...any comments???

i asked a cop i know and he said he thinks it is illegal but is unsure. i mean you dont use your lights in the daylight anyways and that is when they are blacked out.and at nite 90% of the light shines through....how could it be illegal?????

every city and state will be different, just like in MI its illegal for any tint on windows even thoe were not talking about that, in other states your allowed 35 %. just contact your local PD and what thjey say goes, also get a name of sommeone if they give you hassel.

ya thats what i am trying to do cuz i know one of the state troopers..he was actually the cop that gave me my first two tickets at the same time..but were real cool now cuz his son is on my bball team..but thankz for the advice..lata

Don't do the headlights, those are illegal nationwide; taillights vary by state and local ordances, but generally speaking you are in the clear for a few coats of VHT or comparable tints....
