That small amount of orange peel as shown in Mr Luos's pictures just isnt bad enough to bug me all that much-I have seen way worse.

Ya there are lots of reasons to stay away from black cars, or even really dark colors. I'm in the same position myself. I got the $$ for an LS1 now and I'm stuck debating if I should get a white or black T/A. Something tells me I'm damned either way heh. And to whoever mentioned the polished wheels.....AMEN to that!

In the end it's all about what you want. If you want a black car then just be prepared to deal with the problems or have the $$ to fix em.

Orange Peel means the surface finish almost looks like ther skin of an "orange peel" it's shiny but it's got alot of tiny bumps... hope this helps...

look at reflections in your door, then look at reflections in your fender. You'll see how the fender is nice and smooth, but the door is all bumpy

I have the same thing on my 2001. Is it common for one door to have it and not the other?

Yes, I know. Having a DD that is black is really hard to keep clean. I use my duster every other day...gotta keep that bling bling going. Original paint job, too. Although I do use a clay bar on the body once a year.

certain car makers have certain standards for o/p. you are not gonna find one without o/p. the only way to get one without is to have a show quality paint job with several coats of c/c and a good buffing. but usually if you have o/p on 1 body part, it should be on others as well, since they are being sprayed at the same time. but if it isnt that bad, it can be sanded or buffed out most of the time.

Wal*Mart is where I got mine for 10 bucks I believe. Look in automotive where all the car wash/wax is next to all the sponges and mitts. Comes in a black plastic case. They make em for your dash too but thats a bit overboard for me.
