Clear it, so it will match the grille. It doesn't look sharp as is.

im painting my hood the same way in a few weeks and i would also have to say go with clear for the hood, but for the berger i would go semi/matte/flat for that...thats what i did and i know that y2k has the semi/matte/flat black berger as well

Correct on the flat black Berger panel. Its the only piece of my black that is not gloss/cleared, but the Berger panel in true form is flat/matte black. I wanted mine that way. But if you go with the gloss black look on the Berger panel, it really pops. I don't think you will be disappointed with either on the Berger.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I don't know if it's me, but the Berger makes the rear of the Camaro look more aggressive.

Mystic Teal Metallic- 2000 Camaro Z-28
I honestly like the semi gloss look, it's different (and in a good way). I think that in all honesty thats what everyone goes for but few ever find...

Why don't you wait until you have the berger panel done. Keep them both matt for a while and see how you like it. You can always do a clear later on.
the problem is I'm an absolute perfectionist hah...I want it to be as perfect as soon as possible and the guy that does the paint work is always extremely busy so its like now or wait forever

Well then, you have quite the conondrome don't you
Personally, I think matching matt finish up front and in the rear would look good.
Are you doing the stripe all the way back also, or just the Manta on the hood?
Either way, it's going to look great.
I got the decal for my hood so I could check it out for a while before committing to paint. I tried putting it on last weekend and ended up tearing it. That's what I get for getting a lessor quality decal instead of vinyl And, next time I'll pay someone to do it

It seems that I am the only one who thinks it looks great just the way it is...
I read you like a book, because you are just like me. Get the hood cleared, you are not and are not going to be happy with it.
Yes, yes you did. We seem to have a very similar taste when it comes to our pewter Camaros hah. I just hope the painter doesn't want to wring my neck when I tell him I want to change it.Last edited by 2001camaroSS; 03-24-2010 at 09:32 PM.

Looks awesome but I say clear it. It will flow with the front that is also gloss/cleared. Car looks sweet BTW!

You know, I think Preston is right. With the grille, having it cleared would look better
