How much is a respray of the front bumper?

    Has anyone recently done this?

How much is it if I take the bumper off myself and just pay for the respray?

How much extra is it if I am too lazy to remove the bumper?

And how hard is it to remove the front bumper?

If you did the work, it should be much cheaper. Take the bumper off, sand it down, take it in and have them spray it. Should only be around $200 I'd think. Well, I wouldn't pay any more than that.

if your bumper is flaking, its gonna be a pain in the ass to sand it correctly. you would want to get as much of the old paint off as possible, otherwise it will just flake again once its painted. as far as paint, you dont wanna just spray any ol paint on it...you'll want a paint that has a flex agent to prevent it from premature cracking or flaking...if i were you, id follow shady's footsteps and let a shop do it all, you'll save yourself a major headache that way...

I paint bumpers on the car for $150 to $200 depending on condition. Took mine over 3yrs to chip and flake because I painted it in my apt lot with siome cheap sherwin william auto paint. i plan to redo it in Dupont this time. About $100 extra if I have to remove and reinstall myself. Also I wet sand and buff all jobs. Add $25 for red cars just to give yo an idea from what i charge.
Pwerter is $27 or so for a 1/2 pint and then some clear. If someone brought it sanded, painted off the car it's be $150 max. $200 if it's judt the bumper and I sand it.

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! Sanding flaking paint is a PITA! You DO NOT want to use paint stripper on plastics. A method I learned from an old timer to get the old paint off is using brake fluid. Spread it on and try to completely cover the whole part and let it set for a while. Then use a rag soaked in brake fluid and start to remove the paint. This worked for a few parts I had to remove paint from before. Hope this helps

Wow $500 and more I wish you guys lived closer to me and come to my shop with that cash. If I charged that much I'd be driving a C6 instead od a . I got a guy a aftermarket bumper for a Accord painted and installed it for $300. You guys gotta learn negotiation or check around more. I charger a guy from the club $1000 to do his Red GTO he pulled the bumper and fogs. I painted the f bumper, hood, and blended both bender. Plus w/sanded the painted pieces and buffed them plus ran the polishing compound on the buffer over the rest of the carand sealed it all.I have breathable sealant for new paint and another for cured paint.
