How much to have a door repainted?

I'm looking at a '00 SS, one problem with it is the drivers door has been swapped out, so it needs to be painted to match the rest of the car, NBM.

Supposedly the door was swapped because the power window motor let go, and they found it easier to just change doors.

Anyone have a ballpark guess as to what this might cost?

I'm going to call a body shop tomorrow, but I was just wondering here if anyone had an idea.

    Thanks!

I know... made me wonder too. I haven't done a window motor in one of these things, myabe it's riveted in and they didn't know to drill out the rivets?

I'll certainly be running a carfax on this one.

But, 71k, SS, leather, t-tops, A4, and they'll go down to at least 8k, I figure it's worth a look.

indeed. there is some drilling to reach the rivets then more drilling to remove the rivets themselfs but it isnt hard. Even if it was hit in the door if thats the only major flaw with the body then theres nothing to worry about.

Yeah, that's what the guy at the body shop said, he'd have to blend it to make it look right. He said roughly 600-700.

i workin a body shop and have ran into this problem before. i know it sounds stupid but they are in fact riveted. in most cases you drill the rivets and replace the motor. but we had a 2000 black ta that had to have the door replaced.the problem is that because the door is fiberglass and not metal the holes will woller out. im not sure what causes it whether the rivets were never tight enough or what but it is a ligitement problem.sorry so long just passing on the info so maybe you feel a little better about your car. tim
