How do I take off the stock shift nob.

    Hey everybody,
I have a 1998 automatic trans am with the t style shifter and I want to put in a hurst t handle shift nob to replace it. Does anyone know how to take off the stock nob without me doing some surgery with a ziz wheel?

I'm pretty sure that there's a clip in the front of the handle that needs to be removed then the handle will either pull up and off or you'll have to twist it to unthread it. Good luck.

Has clip in front I would pull it to low 1 and get a small flat head screwdriver then it just pulls up and off.

Not gonna be able to replace it with a Hurst T-Handle, ...
Pull the clip, pull it up off the shaft, ..., You'll figure it out from there that it won't work, ...

Wow, there's a stranger I haven't seen around on the forums for a long time!

Once he removes the knob, he'll surely figure out the standard Hurst T-handle won't work. However, ..., where there's a will there's a way!
