Help! Vinyl Adhesive Problem

Alright. One of the vinyl stripes on my car got messed up a little while ago, so last night I decided to take them off. I pulled 'em off, and I've been trying to get all the adhesive off. After getting the car smooth again on one panel (I assumed I had finally gotten all the adhesive off) I noticed you could tell where the stripe was, and it was a yellowish-cream color. My car is white. We've cleaner waxed, and buffed it some, and it's gotten a little lighter, but is still visible. It's not horribly obvious, but it's driving me nuts.

The stripes were on about a year, and the car didn't have a garage until this January. So it sat out in the sun some.

Anything I can do to get this out?

Edit: Looks like after buffing/waxing it only shows up in the shade, and it is very faint. So it's not a HUGE problem, but it still bugs me. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

have it wet sanded and recleared?

After lots of waxing, buffing, claybar, and help, it's barely noticeable. I can only BARELY see it when I'm looking way too hard for it and it's in the shade.
