I switched mine over to the Hurst T style with the button for electronic activation. Before I got the switch hooked up my wife went to drive it and couldn't get the hang of pushing it down to get it into drive. I took it off shortly after that.
I was here before the server crashed.

All the one's I've seen just seem cheap. I'd like a T-Handle style if anyone can tell me where to find one...I've googled "automatic shift knob" and just not getting anywhere I like...

My t/a came with the stock t-handle but that's not all that appealing as what a chrome handle would be or somthing a lil different. I might have to look into this...

I'm sure I have pictures of it installed but no idea where now. I don't remember where I got it from either. Still have it buried in the garage somewhere. Basically it's just the same as this from Summit:

    Or this from Jegs:

The trick is though you need the adapter to screw into the bottom of it so it clips into the rod coming up. Again no idea now where I got that from either. I was afraid if anyone else got in to drive it they wouldn't know to push down and just rip it back and break something. Not that I let just anyone drive it but you never know. Could be a theft deterrent though.

T-Handle from a T/A or Firebird drops right on, picture below of the '97 shifter and leather seats in my 2000 FRC.

I picked up a second gray leather wrapped one today, it was in a Fierro, same exact thing pictured, paid $12.oo at the junk yard pick-ur-part. I plan to drill a hole in it for the line lock switch.

Very nice piece, but I would not recommend it if you drive a lot in the heat/cold. It gets extremely hot/cold.

Hmm, yeah. I can see that being an issue. I had the same type problem with my teak and chrome steering wheel

I don't drive in the bad weather, but when I do drive it during the summer, I keep a rag in there to cover it with. It gets too hot to touch at times.

I did the exact same thing in the Chevelle too. Some days, even with the towel, it was still way too hot. Especially when I lived in Palmdale.

Sure looked good though. Burning my hands on it wasn't enough to make me switch it out. Besides, the air conditioner kicked ass in that car. It only hurt for a little bit. So... it was worth it
