Got a WS6 hood ... need ideas

Shawn (LS1SpeedAddict on most sites, not sure if he's here) dropped off his old hood today (freebie, zip, zero, nada ... FTW!!!) and helped me mount it. Now I need ideas on what I should do with it ... I plan to just take a cheap route now and get some white/red vinyl to do what I've photoshopped for now ... ideas?

Here's how she sits now...

White vinyl on the sides of the hood and red on the bumper to start the single stripe...

White on the hood only and leave bumper alone...

Both of those would require a red stripe to continue on the sail panel and trunk and possibly the wing. Probably not if it looks okay and not out of place.

Or the other idea is to make the headlights and a portion of the bumper red (headlight buckets and nostrils on bumper area) to make it look like a two tone effect ... although carrying that to the back will be hard 'cos the whole sail panel and wing would have to be red.

Taking other ideas as well so post up!!!

How about no red and just put flat white stripes on it. I have flat black on gloss black but, not sure what flat white on gloss white would look like.

Looks like a giant tongue...

Personally, I'd paint it white to match the car and leave it at that.

lol, you're right!

My other option was to run a white stripe down the center and make it racing stripes

yeah he's a great guy. Also the hood is cut-up underneath 'cos he had to get his single plane and nitrous kit to fit so I don't think he would've got much for it anyway. He got a new VFN 4" setup, hence the hand me down.

I'd rather not put money into painting it right now guys, hence the vinyl idea... Id appreciate some ideas/replies along those lines... I am however gonna be looking into the cost of getting the whole car painted sometime later when I can afford it...

Another take on it ... racing stripes!!!

Keep it the stock color.......only addition I would do is have the 'bird' painted on it!

You got the free hood, saved about 500.00. I would take it to Maaco. They could proably shoot it for 200.00. Stripes dont work on our cars, maybe if it were a muted color, but that is a bold red. It your car, so do what you like. If you really thougt it looked good you wouldnt ask.

h aha, you're right. got a quote for $175 from a guy on Craigslist ... waiting on another guy I "know" does good work before I try and get it done.
