My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
WOOT! i like that alot, man. I'm gonn have to try that...i have a lot of stuff in the engine that has a tarnished, white/gray coating to them and i bet the steel wool will take it off for sure!

Not wax, some guide of metal/aluminium polish I believe. I recommend Billet Aluminum Polish.

first buy some metel polish, not paint polish. i used mothers and not even the exspenive one just plain. start by just apllying it on what ever your doing and rub the crap out of it, like 10 times. i also used a 8" power car waxer just to give me a break, but not needed. for rougher surfaces you will have to sand to smooth out. start w/ like 400-500grit then move up all the way over a 1000 grit for brake calipers, TB's, MAF's etc.... it cost me about $7.00 and about a hour.
hoped this helped you nick
