LS1 calipers are aluminum and will not rust. LT1 calipers are steel and would need to be coated to prevent rust.

If I wanted to unbolt my calipers and unhook the brake line, will I need to kink it to keep all the brake fluid from leaking out? Also, where do you get the stickers? I want to polish mine and put the camaro stickers on em.

I am re-doing mine soon. Maybe start this afternoon while the baby is sleeping.
They will be gloss black with carbon fiber 'Trans Am' decals. Leaving the WS6 decals off. Probably won't be able to see the decal unless you are looking for it...which is my kinda thing.

Also...if you disconnect the brake line you will need to rebleed. If you are going to do this, now would be a good time to put new fluid in your system. I plan on doing that as well. DOT 4 synthetic.

What does rebleed mean? And what kind of paint are you using Mr. Luos? I wanted to paint mine gloss red. Will I need high temp paint? Thanks a lot for the help.

I am using VHT caliper paint. It is a high temp paint.
Rebleed is making sure there is no air in the brake lines.

One of 2 ways, either buy a self bleeder which runs about $10-20 I believe or get a buddy to help you. You need a 10mm wrench and there is a bleeder valve on the top of the backside of the caliper. The buddy pumps up the brakes until they are hard, then the other person opens up the bleeder valve and releases the air from the line(along with nasty fluid) then tightens the bleeder valve back up and the process repeats several times over.

They do make a brush on kit to paint the calipers if you don't want to remove the calipers. Prep is always the key to painting though, the paint job will only be as good as your prep work allows for. Most parts stores will have the brush on kit, I know O'Reilley's carries the kit.
