    engine cleaning

    hey guys what is the best way to clean an ls1 without hurting any of the electrical on the motor. some good ideas would be helpful.

    I clean everything by hand with simple green in a spray bottle. I usually spray into a cloth then wipe to keep things a little neater.

    the way we do it at work is spray it with citrus stuff then hose it down, spray it with shinny stuff then wipe it all down........

    Just keep in mind while detailing any part of your car to use a silicone based product as opposed to a petroleum based product as petroleum will in time break down your rubber, plastic, etc.

    Remember the old adage about not using vaseline on your rubbers (sex) it's because petrolum will eat through your rubber. Same goes for car parts. Throw the Armor-All away!
