Custom Painted Battery Cover... need opinions

Ok guys, just finished making a battery cover and im getting ready to paint it with in the next few days. My plan is to do it black with blue true fire. I have a shop in town making up the firebird emblem and the text i plan to use in viynl due to the lack of space (just figured i dont want the hassle of doing the small lettering in such a small space, this will look alot cleaner). My question is should i try to clear over the viynal or just leave it on top of the clear. I did a photoshop of what i have in mind... opinions and suggestions are welcome (note: the true fire on the real thing will be no wheres near as busy as this)

this is also not to scale... the real thing will be much more balanced

Looks good! I probably would have use the 4th gen bird instead of the 2nd gen but that's just my opinion.

I stuck with original GM as it increases longetivity of the battery!

Clear over the vinyl once laid down...or else the letters will peel up after time because of their small width.
