Covers for my dust cover???
Not sure if this is the right place to put this but here it goes...
For those of you that use a car cover, you ever get tired of getting tire shine products on your car cover and then it gets smeared on your paint or windshield?
Got a quick and cheap solution for you....
BEFORE
AFTER
Here's a better pic, made some for my G8 too...
I know some of you guys might think this is crazy especially if you never use one of these but I detail my car for the cruise nights and then come home to park it for a week so it needs the cover and I'm tired of having ArmorAll everywhere. I'm sure it probably helps to buy a proper cover to begin with, I bought a Budget brand cover from Autozone 'cause I'm cheap.02 CETA #654 7800 miles
09 G8 GT liquid red, sport/premium/sunroof red/black int
07 Tahoe LS
...you'll know it's me when I come through your town
I'm gonna ride around in style, I'm gonna drive everybody wild
'cause I'll have the only one there is around

That's a nice cover. Yeah my old covers have to be replaced but like I said I'm cheap...
A new set of the cheapos will last a long time with my ghetto rigged tire covers.

There are better products out there besides Armor All that will not smear on the paint or windshield, but whatever works for you, stick with it.

Interesting idea. You put a lot of thought into that.
If you're ever in a pinch, a 33 gallon trash bag would fit right over the wheels too.

Other people have said the same thing. I've been using this stuff since I can remember. The only other thing I tried (once) was Black Magic Titanium and I hated it. It was covered in dust and took like 5 washes to remove.
Thanks. it actually started very primitive with just a flat piece of cardboard but it was a pain keeping it up right while putting the dust cover on. Then I tried just folding a larger piece of cardboard to fit with some cuts on the top but it looked like ass. Sat down, had another beer and bingo!
Thought about the bag but I have a bunch of empty boxes in the garage.

I guess its just hard to break old habits, I buy the big jugs of AA and fill up my own spray bottles. Then I apply just enough with an applicator pad. I've noticed some of the spray on gels like black magic that my buddies use end up all over the door and rear quarter. They look nice while the car is parked but then... Maybe they just don't let it dry long enough. I think another problem I have is that there's farm fields all around me and Its always dusty around here.
What do you use for your tires? Is it spray or gel?

Those gels and sprays typically don't work worth a flip. I use Zaino tire shine. It has never spun off or come off on my car cover, no issues. Here is a link to it:
