TRIPLE BLACK- 2000 CAMARO SS M6 #2100
coil cover idea... sbc valve cover
So I have never been a huge fan of the looks of our coils on the valve covers but hate the look of the vette fuel rail covers so I never really did anything about it. I have seen a few different types of covers that look like big valve covers that sit on top and hide them. Some of these actually do look pretty good but man they are pricey. I can’t see myself paying $200+ for a fake plastic valve cover to hide the coils. So anyway, I was sitting her thinking, what if I took some old school sbc valve covers and modified them to cover the coils. Turns out that Im not the only one to think about this and found a few pics here and there on the web. Im currently eyeing some cheap ones on ebay and if I get them Ill take a stab at this and see how it turns out. Has anyone on here done this before? If so please post pics and or advice about them. Thanks!

lol not a bad idea. Or you can always get a set of coil relocation brackets.

I'm not sold on the look of the SBC covers sitting atop an LS1. I agree that the coils ugly up the engine bay, as does the secondary air system, wire harnesses over the wheel well, the cruise control module and such. I went with filled Corvette covers and either moved or removed the rest of the stuff. Curious though to see how yours turns out and I am always a fan of custom fabbed pieces.

I just won the ebay auction and scooped up a set of used ones for only $2.50 plus shipping! A whole lot better than $200-$300 for plastic ones.
Lets just hope they work out so this will be an epic win for me.

Haven’t even really started yet other than thinking about where I’m gonna need to cut. There’s a lil less room in there then I was hoping lol. I got a ton of things going on right now but hopefully after I close on my house and get moved in I should really be able to dive head first in this project. Ill def keep everyone posted.
