That can be done to your personal preference. I used bumper paint which left behind a very solid flat black color. I've heard of people putting clearcoat on to gloss it up.

CETA and Berger Mods are commonly flat black, but it's your car. do whatever you want.

The actual CETAs are not painted at all. That section of the bumper is just the bare black plastic that the pumper is made out of. Going flat black on it gives it a similar appearance.

I was really nervous when I started sanding on my paint, Then I found some spider cracks in the lower bumper which I fleshed out and they all appear to be gone now.

Few pics below. Will put it back on the car tomorrow (letting it sit overnight) and give you the finished product.

Yeah, the first pic is definitely spotty and I intentionally posted to show how it started. the metallic was flickering through the bumper paint for the first few layers. I was kind of scared as I used an adhesion promoter after sanding which was clear. I put about 5 coats on. My coats were extremely thin at the beginning because I was nervous and didn't want drips, especially when starting.

Hmmm.... Not sure, which pic? Check out the photo's on the car. Those others were taken in my garage with a floor lamp 3 feet from the right side of the bumper, so that might be something.

Does anybody know where you can get some good LED's locally? I bought a bunch of the 18 bulb led replacements, but they don't light up the taillights during the day at all.
OK so you say after adding 5 thin coats the spotie ness was covered over leaving a nice finish?
did you wet sand after the 5th coat?

the image in this quote has the green stuff.

    Thanks
    Stephen

No, I never wet sanded. I kept it in the garage for the rest of the week then washed it. Looks fine. I'm sure a wetsand would really smooth it over, but I honestly can't tell, and it feels fine to touch.

I believe the green stuff in the pic is a result of me waxing the car with zymol. It's the reflection of the grass.
You had me worried for a minute...
