    Question Chome/Stainless front emblem

Just as the topic says.. I need to find an aftermarket chromed or stainless bowtie emblem for 93-97 front grilles. GM only makes the red ones (#10166783). Anyone know where I can find one?! (I tried RKSport and the website was down). And I ordered one off of ebay from the guy that makes stainless badges and its too small. I dont want an overlay, I want a real badge.

SORRY DOUBLE POST.. PLEASE DELETE IT (as I cant find how to)

You can try making one. Go down to your local metal supply, get a piece of 3/8 aluminum, trace the bowtie, cut it out with a jigsaw, deburr the edges, polish it,and clearcoat. Stick it on with 3M trim tape or glue it on. Nice Saturday project!

Why not get a regular one and paint it yourself?

Or buy one on ebay. I see them all the time for around $60+. Just search for Billit Bowtie.

Thats just the thing, I dont want a painted one or vinyl sticker. I want a real metal badge.. either stainless or chrome or as mentioned an aluminium one.

I tried all over ebay, but the emblem Im looking for is very specific to the vehicle. It has to have a bend in it and an opening in the bowtie, not solid.

Making one seems like the only viable option at this time. I do have the equipment to do it. Now all I need is the time. The tricky part of the whole process will be duplicating the bend that is in the factory emblem. Its right on the crease for the nose, so its got a very slight bend. My luck I'd make the damn thing and then bend it wrong. LOL.

Maybe I'll make one out of sterling silver.. I have lots of sheets of it laying around for jewelry projects. :blingbling:
