Have they painted it yet? If not, just spray the underside with flat black from a rattle can; it won't be perfect, but flat black settles pretty well, so it should still look good! If you're doing this after the hood is painted though, tape, tape, and retape; you don't want to get overspray on a fresh paintjob!

I really doubt it would look good, unless a trans am replaced every body panel with cf. that might look cool.
50LBS! Am I the only one that caught this! If I saved fifty pounds over stock with one one piece of hardware you can count me in. You might wanna check your references. But I will say that If ur serious about dropping wieght carbon fiber parts play a huge role. Granted alot of imports use them but they're all about savings weight. If you dont like the look of CF paint it.

50 lbs. would be like me being able to throw half my girlfriend out the window before racing someone down the street.

I love the look of carbon fiber, and wouldn't want to paint over a hood that was made of the stuff. I have still been looking for straight z28 hoods, but they all have an ss hood scoop, so I might have to settle on a hood scoop.

    agreed.

I doubt that anybody makes a flat hood in CF, not because it wouldn't look good, but because the demand and willingness to pay the price just isn't there. There are very few people who would choose a Z hood over an SS hood given the same cost.

Depends on which hood you're talking about; SS hoods sure don't, I believe they're around 30 with latch and struts. The Steel 4th gen hoods (i.e. Z hood) weighed in at a hefty 68 lbs with all hardware attached.

Can't make any claims on a T/A hood, but I bet it weighs more than you think... When you've got it off, pick it up, and jump on a scale, then weigh yourself, subtract...etc, etc... then let us know; now I'm curious.

i would say t/a hood is roughly the same.. but ws6 hood would weigh more.. or firehawk.. thats just my guess

nah you won't gain any HP from the hood... they're just for looks and some amount of weight reduction

oh boy not this debate!!!!! it wasnt a question and the ram air boys are gonna come after u on that one!!!! lol ....i have never seen proof either way but it only makes sense to me that incoming cold air at highway speeds SHOULD give u a small amt of additional HP....and when i say small im talking in the 3-5 hp range .....again i could be wrong but u wont change my mind on it w/o proof
