We can hook you up with either for a great price. In my opinion, nothing beats the look of stainless. It has a perfect mirror finish with none of the hassles of chrome.

Stainless was an excellent choice. You just can't beat it.
For what it's worth, never place any fill-ins on your car that are painted. There is no need to have to paint them seeing as they come come in many colors in standard plastics - including silver. Painting them will only cause you to kick yourself later when it begins to fail, and it will fail unless they are painted with professional body paint; not rattlecan base and clear.
Also, before you buy anything, be sure to shop around for the best prices and materials.
If you guys have any questions about materials and/or finishes, check out our site. We offer many colors in plastics and acrylics, as well as mirror stainless steel. We feel that we offer the best parts at the best prices; even while paying GM royalties. Having GM licensing doesn't mean something has to cost a lot.
Also, we can do a brushed stainless for you if "bling" isn't your thing, and it won't cost you any more than our regular stainless. I actually hand sand a grain into everything that gets a brushed finish.
We also have plastic with a simulated brushed finish on the surface, but I have to ask this question: Why would you want simulated brushed metal finish when you could have the real thing? We offer real brushed stainless cheaper than others sell simulated brushed finish plastic. But, we offer the simulated brushed stainless plastic as well if that is what you'd like for a bit cheaper than our stainless.
In the end, it is the consumer's choice. I just offer a great product at a great price.
