I say polished. It would look better than paint IMO.

its just calipers. They dont have to stand out. The only way i would paint mine is if they were not stock.

but if you paint them, i think you should just do them red. because anything else looks somewhat rice on a black car.

I painted mine back in March on our car. Didn't even consider a color other than a dark gray. It has a nice clean look (the camera flash makes it look more silver than it is):

Polished would look good, black with camaro lettering IMO
I said red because it looks the best out of the pics, but everyone has red

    Polished is cheaper

Gloss black. I went with it and I don't think it would look better any other color.

Or polished would be my second choice.

wow thats great information... and will go with my black/chrome look.... hmph... i will seriously consider that..

thank you for all the input everybody i really enjoy considering all different options

as for the gloss black idea... where did you guys buy ur paint from? and did you have to lightly sand down the caliper etc to prep it so it comes out smoother? if you polish too much will the paint not stick as well?

    I use VHT caliper paint.
Clean up the calipers really good....scuffing them is a good idea.
    Then paint.

is there any difference in quality of the paint lasting between spray application or brush? brush sounds a ton easier

No matter what you do, your paint will start to go south on you at some point. I used a spray paint from Eastwood -- believe it is called "Spray Gray". A caliper paint or high temp paint like VHT may hold up longer. Another option is powder coat, but you need to disassemble the caliper for that.

Don't forget that you will also need to paint the caliper bracket. As for prep, I simply used brake clean and a small brass brush. After masking everything off, I found that a plastic cap off a can of spray paint covered the caliper pistons quite nicely. I cut the cap down quite a bit and one area had to be trimmed to match the contour of the caliper.

Yeah, and if you want them to look extra shiney, get some high temp clear as well.
