beware of aftermarket hoods....

My parents bought my ram air hood off ebay and it was painted and installed... Everything was perfect. I know that it's fiber glass and there are two small dips or depressions on the outside of the hood right above where they are bolted to the struts. The hood was not like this at first, so i know this is the reason why. Would this happen to any fiber glass hood? or is it just low quality?

I got mine from ASCD and have had it for about 7 years. I haven't noticed anything like that on mine. It might be a lower quality hood. People on ebay kind of scare me sometimes w/ something like this so i usually go to a retailer that has some good reviews.

The hood struts have too much valving to them so they're pushing up on the hood. I'd suggest you unbolt at least one of them so it isn't pushing up on the hood as much.

on mine you can see little dimples going all the way up both sides, I assume this is were the two pieces (top and bottom) were fastened. I need mine repainted, several rck chips and a scratch from my ex girlfriends purse

I know some aftermarket hood companies recommend not installing the stock struts because of that problem. They usually provide a hood prop with the hood
