I have the ones from Speed Specialty in my 96 3.8 camaro. They're ok (but I don't know if I'd say they're ok had I paid full price), actually, the picture with the tan deletes on Speed Specialty's webpage is my car. I think I had the first deletes Mark made with the storage hatch built in. For the Z28 though, when I have time I will be buying a piece a foam from Lowe's or Home Depot and using it to rough out a design to build my own. It's really the only way to get a good tight, clean fit. There's too much variation in interiors due to chassis flex, carpet thickness, etc., to get a good clean fit without having someone custom build them for your car. If you have the time, I would try to build your own. After I rough out the design/measurements with the foam, I will be making my own out of plywood or MDF. Instead of two small delete boxes though, mine will be one solid panel coming over the top of the driveshaft tunnel for a cleaner look. Good luck on whatever you do.

If you're directing that at me, no problem. Don't know how soon it will be though.

If you just figure out what style of delete you want, it's not that hard. Just buy a piece of insulating foam (I think it comes in sheet that are like 1/2"thick, 2' wide and 4' long) and after removing your seats, hold it in there to figure out where to make your first cuts. Then use a razor knife to shave it down bit by bit till you get a fit you're comfortable with and there's your template. Trace around it onto the material you're gonna make the delete out of and that's about it. Use the factory seat mounting brackets to attach it. You can make them with or without storage. Mine will be one big box, instead of two smaller ones that fit inside the seat wells. I'll have one large hinged door on it instead of two.

Maybe that'll help ya a little bit, if not I'll be sure to document the process as I do it.

I asked for pics to see how yours looks when you're done.

wouldn't it be easier to use a cardboard template than a whole piece of foam? I'm gonna make a rear seat delete soon to and move my amps and capacitor cap there

With a sharp knife, the foam is easier to carve, especially for a large panel like I intend to do. For the smaller ones, like I have in my 96 that I bought, cardboard might be ok. With the foam though, once you get your template built, you can set it in place, maybe tape it/glue it/tack it, and step back and see how it looks with a more realistic representation than with cardboard. The foam will have closer dimensions to the wood you use and carpet and make it closer in size to the real deal.

Thanks. I know there are many here who like to see pics of nice custom work...and it gives us ideas on what we might want to do with ours.
