Not a bad idea on putting your cleaning supplies in there. Except in Texas I'm sure the heat would ruin them, so I won't be doing that. I would line the interior with plastic or something that would be spill/stain resistant. Just in case.

MY car never over heats when it's parked outside (garage parked when I'm home)...I have 20% Tinting on the baack and side windows and when I get my new job, I'll be putting 50% tint on the windshield.

I like the Tonneau cover if I had a vert, but you already stated you dislike them. I've been brewing up ideas for a delete box as the ones i've seen (like linked in this thread) aren't necessarily bad....I just don't like how it drops down from the line of the trunk area....then again if its level with it, it won't match the side panels. The vette has a nice look.....hmmm

on a convertible you don't have to worry about the side plastic pieces because they are straight top to bottom no indentations for arm space...

I'm with you, the stepped look doesn't seem very "natural" thats why if you're going to have the space stepped take the attention of it with a nice speaker box instead of a nothingness box...

well I took out my back seat and done regret it at all... although I desperately want a speaker box back there... although I still REALLY want to keep it as light weight as possible... any ideas as to what materials I can use... I can't seem to find anyone in town that is willing to make me a box.

I would go try to find some matching carpet and go to the local hardware/lumber yard and buy a lot of MDF and start hacking and sanding. There is an engineer at work that makes all the custom crap when shit breaks at work. Im thinking about throwing him 50 bucks and having this done.

I hate when people want to sit back there..
