Question Anybody try a Windshield Repair Kit?

Caught a rock in the windshield on the driver side causing a nice bullseye/star-shaped chip/crack, anybody tried those windsheild repair kits with the clear gel?
Any input from how satisifed you were and any tips?

You should go to your local large dealer and ask who they use. It's not easy and the lady that does our used cars has been doin it for over 20 yrs. It's not expensive we pay $50 a car.

My insurance covers it with no charge as long as it's smaller than a $1 bill. I would definately have someone who knows what they are doing do it. Even if you don't go through your insurance it shouldn't be that expensive since they shouldn't need to remove the windshield or anything like that.

    This.

They'll tell you if your insurance covers it or not.

That's interesting, because I have a pin head size one that's noticeable and was wondering how to fix. Did you do it yourself or take it to someone?

How big would you say the chip is?

Wow, I didn't expect virtually everyone to say have a pro do it.

It's that easy to screw it up huh?

One reply says he sees no difference after having a repair done, you guys that have had it done professionally how did it turn out?

How big is yours, like a quarter? One person mentioned smaller than a dollar bill(which seems huge) for $50.00 by a pro...

I have found one site before that has this repair kit. They are offering this at a lower cost, but i haven't try that thing. Once i remember i'll try to post that one in here.
