Aftermarket WS6 or Firehawk hood?
I really wanna get either a WS6 or a Firehawk hood but they are VERY expensive. I've look at other designs like the WS9 and such and they arent my taste.
Is my only option finding one on ebay or buying from SLP? Or does someone make an exact replica?

After market Hood
I purchased a hood from F body motorsports out of Charlotte NC, and am very pleased. It doesnt have the large nostrils like the WS6, but the nostrils are larger than stock. It also has 4 extractors on it. Looks sharp.

Well if I do get an aftermarket I'd really like it to be functional like the stock ones would? I was looking at one and they wanted you to buy a 299 dollar kit!

Find a used WS6 on eBay or the parts for sale forums.
If you use a Firehawk hood, you must cut the front bumper/fascia where the hood meets up. Then there's no goin' back, ...
If you use the WS6 or the Suncoast Creations 'Raptor' hood, which is similar to the Firehawk hood, it's a bolt-on.

Raptor!! Thats the name, I cant believe I forgot what it was called. It is not a functional ram air system. I think it is even heavier than the stock hood it replaced, then theres shipping, paint and install costs. If $$ is the limiting factor, then I agree with the above, go to a salvage yard (iffy) or ebay. I believe the salvage yard is the route I have to go to mod a TA bumper cover for C5 style exhaust routing....it will be painfull, if it works, pics will be attached...

Wow that Raptor one is nice!! But its probably outragously priced plus you have to pay for the optional ram air kit.
I think im gonna try my luck at the junk yards. But almost all the fbodies in my area have been hit in the front end.

No, That's the Mecham hood I believe.
Suncoast Creations 'Raptor' does not have those 4 extractors.
This is the 'Raptor', ...

I have an SLP H.O. hood... however when I was in the market many people said to go with a reputable company.. some hoods that are cheap have crappy fiberglass so when you go to paint it the paint soaks into it and does stick properly... also some will look nice b4 painted then after you will see that it is warped in certain places. If you buy one that is off an old WS6 painting is more expensive and wont stick as welll you have to sand the old paint first. with an after market one you just have to wait for the fiber glass to cure then prime and paint.. I am really satified with SLP I would go with them or suncoast.. also some after market ones dont fit the car properly and you can definately tell that it is after market. just my opinion
